A 61-year-old Spring Hill woman was struck and killed by a car less than a mile from her Spring Hill apartment Sunday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, she was lying in the southbound lane of Anderson Snow Road around 8:15 p.m. when she was run over by a 2007 BMW driven by a 41-year-old Spring Hill woman.
It is unclear why the woman was lying in the road.
The driver claims she could not see the woman. She was not harmed in the accident.
As of now, no charges are pending. However, the FHP is still investigating the accident.
The seriousness of pedestrian injuries often depends on how fast the car was traveling at the time of the accident. Injuries can range from broken bones, fractures and torn cartilage to herniated discs, internal damage and brain damage. Unfortunately pedestrian accidents are usually very serious, and many result in wrongful death. If the injured victim survives the accident they will most likely require medical care and rehabilitation services, possibly for life. As a result, it is very important to seek full and fair compensation for your losses.
When someone is killed in a Spring Hill auto accident because of the carelessness or negligence of another, the family of the victim may be able to recover financial compensation for their losses. Under Florida’s wrongful death statute, damages can be recovered for the following:
• Medical Costs
• Funeral Costs
• Potential Earnings
• Loss of Companionship
• Emotional Pain and Suffering
• Punitive Damages
