A 62-year-old Brooksville man walking back across the street from his mailbox was struck by a car and killed Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was walking across Country Road 493, north of Sun Road, back to his residence around 9:45 p.m. when a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina struck him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The FHP said charges are pending.
