A woman crashed her car into a Hernando County Sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car Tuesday, according to Hernando County deputies.
A Sheriff’s Office report shows that at around 2:18 p.m, a 43-year-old Spring Hill woman crossed the median dividing Spring Hill Road at high speed and collided with an unmarked patrol car.
The deputy was injured and transported to a local hospital by Hernando County Fire/Rescue.
While speaking with the woman, deputies noticed she was unsteady on her feet. In addition, her eyes were bloodshot and watery, her speech was mumbled, and she had the scent of alcohol on her breath, according to reports.
She was arrested after deputies asked her to complete roadside sobriety exercises, which she allegedly failed.
Deputies believe the woman was driving with a suspended license.
